Evangelizing in Mexico: 90% of people give their lives to King Jesus

This campaign

In one of Mexico City’s suburbs, Nicolas Romero, an open-air campaign of Johan Toet Ministries took place last weekend. The evangelistic setting was allowed to be right in the center, right where the marketplace is centered and all the crowds converge. As a result, the entire square was filled in no time. And God saw to it that it did.

People don’t come to hear about Jesus
Of course, most people were at the center for their own agenda. But when they are offered a free phone, washing machine or refrigerator, it’s still tempting to hang around for a while. If only out of gratitude. That’s exactly the purpose of giving things away during evangelism. People are drawn into the act and then they hear the Gospel.

A particularly large surrender
After Brenda’s welcome, Johan takes the floor. He talks about how God wants to free people from the bondages and things they struggle with in life. When we make God big, our problems become small. He compares this to Paul and Silas going to worship and praise God in prison, which resulted in an earthquake and shaking off the shackles. In the same way, God wants to shake people free from their problems.

Then something extraordinary happens
When Johan makes a call to come forward to accept King Jesus, 90% of the people, in tears, move. At most, a handful of people remained seated; the rest all stood in front of the stage. It’s the most beautiful thing you can experience as a Christian,” says Johan.

Jesus accepted, and then what?
Johan explains well to the converts what exactly it is they are doing while standing in front of the podium. That they only need to acknowledge and accept Jesus once, but that this must come out of their hearts and the confession from their mouths must also show in their lives. It is not a religion where they copy his words and return unchanged to their old lives. That is why Johan and Brenda always make sure that people can continue to be “discipled” after accepting Jesus. This time, for example, they were able to record thousands of the visitor’s details and hand them over to the local churches, who can start with the One Basics study guide, among other things.

Up to 3,500 Good Enough books and at least as many Bibles were distributed. There was anointing of the Spirit and, as always, continuous healings!

Brenda, among others, walked among the audience and was allowed to lay hands on many. One of them was an elderly lady who had cloudy, blurry es. There was no denying that she was blind due to the amount of cataracts she had. After Brenda prayed for her, the woman opened her eyes and it was clearly visible that she could see.

Then Brenda was touched by a man whose back had just healed. He asked If she wanted to go with him to see his sister-in-law. The woman was sitting at the back of the square. Seeing the woman, Brenda was startled for a moment; death was written all over this sick woman’s face. She had terminal cancer and was in her last days. Brenda allowed herself to talk to her about life and the sick woman, who could barely stand and had no energy, opened her eyes and radiated life. Clutching her hands to Brenda she also took a few steps. Fantastic!

In tears, a little girl runs to Brenda, she has just been bitten by a dog and immediately asks to be healed. Brenda makes the pain disappear and, without delay, the healing takes place. Completely free of pain, the girl leaves.

Everyone happy
Overall, the outdoor campaign in Mexico was very impactful. The local population, as well as the police, were very happy with the evangelization in the way Johan and Brenda are doing it. According to them, there was calm and peace, which apparently does not happen much during the events. hallelujah!
