In September, Johan Toet Ministries organized three open-air crusades in Uganda. In 2019, they were in Kampala for the first time. Now they worked in a new area. The harvest was enormous. Every evening, thousands of people came to faith who then also got offered aftercare. In addition, they could also bless local initiatives. Next year, the ministry expects to return and increase the impact ten times.

Why Uganda?
During the Greater Faith Conference in Mexico, spiritual father Andrew Wommack introduced Johan and Brenda Toet to Glory of Christ Ministries in Uganda. Andrew believed that they could be of importance there. It quickly became clear to Johan and Brenda that Andrew was right, and after an introduction and agreement on the vision, a tryout was planned. That tryout was executed in September.

The crusades
There were three crusades organized in collaboration. Via radio, television, and billboards, as much awareness as possible was given to the Festival of Life, the name of the crusade. The conscious effort was made to communicate little to none Christian terms because that way, you can attract more non-believers. Evidently, it worked, because every night there were around 10.000 people.

If you stand somewhere three nights in a row, usually the same people come back. But that wasn’t the case now, which made it extra special. The visitors probably told their friends and acquaintances what happened at the festival: the signs and wonders, the beautiful prizes that were given away, and the fact it doesn’t cost a thing. It also helped that buses were used to pick up people. All of these things contributed to the fact that every night thousands of new people could come to faith.

Manifestations and healings
Already, during the accepting of Jesus, dozens of people started to manifest. There were remarkably many exorcisms, and people were massively delivered. The healings were no less. For example, there was a woman who walked bent over for years. Johan called her onto the stage, and after God had healed her, she was jumping and rejoicing. There also was a boy, deaf and mute. He couldn’t hear or speak. When Johan put his fingers in his ears, the boy spoke his first words, “Jesus is good.”

Aftercare
All people who come to faith also receive aftercare at Johan Toet Ministries. Their details are noted during registration and because of that, local churches who helped organize the crusade can come into contact with the new converts. The ministry offers the One Basics Bible Study so that they can be further discipled.

Bless
Those who are familiar with Uganda know that a lot of business is done in the faith world. Things often cost money, like conferences and books. Johan Toet Ministries however gives everything away for free. They only come to give, and that left a great impression. Not only on the events, but also on all the people who were involved, from hotels, restaurants to the chauffeurs, of which someone has a small soul-winning ministry and now receives extra support to make more impact.

Return
It is evident that the work in Uganda isn’t done. Johan Toet Ministries wants to return next year and organize the crusade for at least ten times the amount of people. In addition, they sow into the country by placing a gospel truck, which goes out multiple times per week. In that way, even more difference can be made.
