Johan preekt tijdens Festival of Life Pakistan

At the end of March, Johan and Brenda traveled once again to Pakistan, this time to introduce the Festival of Life concept there as well. The results were extraordinary. Masses responded to the altar call and were instantly filled with the Holy Spirit. Thousands were healed, delivered, and deeply touched by the power of the Holy Spirit. It was nothing less than the fulfillment of Joel 2:28: “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.”

Over 45,000 Pakistanis Hear the Gospel During Festival of Life

Although Johan and Brenda witnessed an impressive harvest in Pakistan last year, this time it made an even greater impact. For the first time, the Festival of Life was introduced in Karachi, and the concept clearly resonated with the local population.

Festival of Life is not a “Christian party” where believers gather to hear a foreigner preach. It’s a creative evangelistic event that uses folklore, music, dance, and giveaways to draw in unbelievers. In Pakistan, it was a hit! Between 45,000 and 50,000 people came to the festival. The giveaways created a warm and expectant atmosphere. By the time Johan stepped on stage to share a short but powerful message, hearts were wide open.

Johan preached his heart out, and the crowd listened intently. Thousands of hearts were deeply touched by a strong anointing of the Holy Spirit, resulting in a mass repentance, after which the new believers were immediately filled with the Spirit. Thousands more were healed of chronic pain and various illnesses through the mighty name of Jesus.

In addition to the tens of thousands physically present, the event was livestreamed, reaching millions around the world.

The Local Church is Hungry for Revival

Johan preached at the festival with a boldness that would’ve reminded you of Peter on the Day of Pentecost. It was a boldness that came directly from the Holy Spirit — and it stood out. Afterward, several bishops, pastors, and even Catholic priests approached Johan to tell him how deeply they were impressed by his uncompromising proclamation of the Gospel.

They expressed their longing for revival in their country and their desire to preach with the same boldness as Johan. When they asked him to share this gift of grace with them, he reminded them: “This boldness is not my own. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to speak with such conviction and authority.” How wonderful to see the local church yearning for more of the Holy Spirit!

New Believers are Immediately Baptized and Discipled

For Johan and Brenda, discipleship is not done on the side— it’s the core of their ministry. Johan explained, “Our mission is clear: we want to make disciples of Jesus who walk daily in the power of the Holy Spirit and build God’s Kingdom in their own villages.”

They emphasized the importance of true repentance — not just turning away from sin, but completely surrendering to Jesus as Lord. That’s why new believers immediately received follow-up care. They were provided with a list of local churches they could connect with, received free study materials for further discipleship, and were invited to return the next day to be baptized in water. It was deeply moving to see so many people baptized one after another — just like in the book of Acts!

The Importance of Women’s Position in the Kingdom of God

Another key event was the women’s afternoon, where Brenda would share a powerful message about women’s position in the Kingdom of God. To her surprise, many men were also present, as it is not customary in Pakistan for women to attend events alone. Johan improvised and called all the men to join him outside for a powerful men’s talk. It worked, and the women in the room were deeply touched by the revelation of their value and purpose in Christ.

In Pakistani culture, women are often pushed aside or placed behind their husbands, even in Christian circles. Brenda’s message encouraged the women to step into their God-given calling, knowing they have a unique and vital role to play in God’s plan.

The Gospel in Word and Deed: A Water Well for a Village

The team also had the honor of helping build a water well that will be a blessing to a local village for years to come. The celebratory opening of the well was a major happening for the villagers, drawing a large crowd and offering another perfect opportunity to preach the Gospel.

Johan and Brenda plan to focus even more on these kinds of projects in the future — to preach the Gospel not only in word but also in deed. After all, faith in action doesn’t just mean preaching the Word, but also showing practical love and care, especially for widows, orphans, and the poor.

The Urgency of Evangelism

During an Instagram Live, Johan stressed the urgency of winning souls: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. The time to step out is now. We cannot wait. There is still so much work to do.” Every day in Pakistan was a reminder that the Gospel must be preached with boldness and urgency — because people are lost. “It’s not about the messenger, but about the message. It’s not about ministries, but about the Kingdom of God,” Johan said.

Together we can do more. So let’s all go out as ministers of reconciliation, proclaiming God’s love to the world around us.
